Business Development Manager
This is an office-based role. You would be tasked with closing sales and winning new business through intelligent and tenacious phone activity, playing a key role in the company’s ambitious growth plans. Working to realistic activity and revenue KPIs you would be expected to actively promote and sell the company’s product range to schools across your region, both existing customers and prospects, establishing a rapport and closing business. In time and once you have demonstrated success in the role you will be tasked with arranging and attending regular customer meetings, supported by a company who place great emphasis on developing skilled members of staff and helping them progress in their careers.
This role will suit individuals not afraid to pick up the phone and sell, able to demonstrate resilience and the desire to generate business and close sales. You will have experience working in a fast-paced environment having worked towards KPIs, and will combine this with a strategic and commercial approach to your work. You will be a confident and tenacious individual, with a proven track record of closing sales and exceeding targets, plus excellent influencing, negotiating and listening skills. You will be a problem solver, able to find answers and solutions to commercial questions and challenges and articulate them effectively.
Reporting to as well as working closely alongside the owners of the business, you would be involved with implementing and executing an innovative marketing strategy in line with company objectives and sales activities. You would be expected to manage and execute day to day marketing activities, with typical activities to include marketing campaigns across digital, mailshots, eshots, product launches and assist with catalogue productions. You would be expected to be measuring and reporting on results, liaising with third parties, design agencies etc, plus improving online and digital presence. Flexibility and extra hours will be required during the catalogue production period of January to March.
An intelligent and enthusiastic individual, possibly a recent graduate with a couple of years marketing experience, looking to develop their skills within a dynamic forward thinking business. A good understanding of the full marketing mix plus knowledge of the fundamentals of the business development process will be required. You will have excellent organisational skills as well as plenty of initiative, plus exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal. You will need strong project management skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work equally effectively alone and as part of a team. You will be committed to delivering first-rate levels of service at all times, and have the desire to forge a successful career in marketing.
